Japanese and Scandinavian design traditions meet in Massproductions Icha collection, an elegant furniture family with a light yet sturdy construction.
The desk, table, stool and chair share the same slender yet strong construction. Icha Icha is named after the Japanese restaurant in Stockholm the stool was originally designed for.
The Icha Stool is a complex wooden chair in solid, layer-glued and steam-bent wood, a combination that makes it dependent on three different production techniques.
Massproductions’ furniture engineers have spent years in product development, analyzing each component and their various production techniques. The collection is constructed to cope with the challenges of public environments and meet the requirements of “Möbelfakta”, the Swedish quality standard for furniture. In connection to its Möbelfakta certification, the collection passed quality testing to meet the requirements for use in public spaces.
The Icha Collection was introduced for the first-time during Stockholm Design Week 2017 and was well received, picking up Elle Decorations “Chair of the Year” award the following year.
