The Crown Armchair is cleverly constructed, with a playful element to it.

It’s backrests are perched on the armrests, seemingly unsupported but in fact relying on a strong, concealed steel joint.

Crown’s distinct design gives it open transparent surfaces, and creates new expressions depending on its placement in the room. This comfortable chair suits just as well around the desk or conference table, as the dining table.

Chris Martin

After working as an assistant in Jasper Morrison’s studio in London, British designer Chris Martin left the UK and moved to Stockholm, where he worked as a freelance designer for IKEA and met Swedish designer Magnus Elebäck. In 2009, the pair joined forces to establish Massproductions – a furniture company that prides itself on producing “high quality, tactile furniture in a modernist spirit”.
