Shaped like a semicircle, the functional rack can accommodate numerous hats, coats and scarves.

Marcel is an adaptation of Marcel Duchamp’s ready-made bottle rack entitled  PORTE-BOUTEILLES OU HÉRISSON. Designer-in-Chief Chris Martin’s idea behind it is simple: to achieve a design that is both functional and beautiful to look at.

Available in two versions, the coat rack stand, finesse and length, is declined in a smaller version, shaped like a semicircle and the combination of steel and granite gives life to the Marcel Coat Stand. The functional rack and stand can accommodate numerous hats, coats, scarves and umbrellas.

Combinations of curves and metal angles connecting two or three arches depending on the model, the all surmounted by fine curved tips, whose incisive and sharp aspect is tempered by rounded extremities.

Chris Martin

After working as an assistant in Jasper Morrison’s studio in London, British designer Chris Martin left the UK and moved to Stockholm, where he worked as a freelance designer for IKEA and met Swedish designer Magnus Elebäck. In 2009, the pair joined forces to establish Massproductions – a furniture company that prides itself on producing “high quality, tactile furniture in a modernist spirit”.
