This cleverly constructed armchair consists entirely of wood, without any screws or metal fittings. 

Massproductions’ Designer in Chief, Chris Martin, wanted to explore the possibilities and limitations of layer-glued wood when creating Rose Chair. Rose Chair  is certified with “Möbelfakta” – the Swedish sustainability and quality label and is manufactured in Småland (Sweden) from Swedish FSC-certified wood source.

It was a challenge to find perfect geometry and balance in the bending process without the material fracturing. The certification is proof that we have succeeded in giving Rose a construction which is as strong as its design

Chris Martin

After working as an assistant in Jasper Morrison’s studio in London, British designer Chris Martin left the UK and moved to Stockholm, where he worked as a freelance designer for IKEA and met Swedish designer Magnus Elebäck. In 2009, the pair joined forces to establish Massproductions – a furniture company that prides itself on producing “high quality, tactile furniture in a modernist spirit”.
