Solid wood desk available in three different finishes with two different shapes of legs to provide for a stable feel while having the most space for movement.

By placing the front legs far apart in the corners, Chris created a sense of space for the user to move freely. The round shape of the front legs prevents uncomfortable bumps against the table. “Vertical legs are not the strongest position and do not provide the ultimate stability to the table. By making the back legs square, they were easier to position at an angle, giving the desk its significant stable feel,” says Chris Martin.

“The genius of the design behind the ‘Homework Desk’ is how Chris, through asymmetry, has created an extremely stable structure while reducing the table’s components to a minimum. The result is an archetypal table with a twist. A Columbus egg,” explains Magnus Elebäck, CEO of Massproductions.

When it comes to the size of the tabletop, Chris aimed for everything to be within reach. The direction of the legs also provides the table with a natural front side, and this side of the table top features a softer rounded edge.

By contemplating the distinctions between a table and a desk, I began to see the table legs in a new light. Instead of merely serving as supports at each corner, you can think of them as intentionally shaped, placed, and positioned to enhance and improve the desk's functionality.
