As the name suggests, designer Chris Martin drew inspiration from puddles of water when he designed the Puddle Table, giving it an organic and harmonious look and feel.

The sofa table in solid wood of oak or black stained ash, is designed generously in size, with a width of 1.6 metres, but still conveys a light, sleek impression.

Inspired by puddles of water and Alvar Aalto’s classic series of glass vases from the 1930s, Chris Martin created a sofa table in solid wood. Despite its generous size, with a width of 1.6 metres, the table’s rounded form conveys a light, sleek impression.

“I wanted to create a table consisting of three design elements: the tabletop, the table edge profile and leg shape. I worked on balancing these three forms to create a uniform design,” explains Chris Martin, head designer and co-founder of Massproductions. 

Puddle table is available in two finishes: oak and black stained ash. Constructed in a durable, robust form, the Puddle Table is perfect for homes as well as high-traffic public spaces.

Chris Martin

After working as an assistant in Jasper Morrison’s studio in London, British designer Chris Martin left the UK and moved to Stockholm, where he worked as a freelance designer for IKEA and met Swedish designer Magnus Elebäck. In 2009, the pair joined forces to establish Massproductions – a furniture company that prides itself on producing “high quality, tactile furniture in a modernist spirit”.
