New Brand / Massproductions at District
In 2009 two designers, sharing a neo-modernist vision of functional, elegant design, decided to break free of PR-driven product strategies to create a furniture company focusing on the interplay between object and context. In order to realise their vision, they assumed control of the entire production chain – manufacturing, sales and marketing.
The name Massproductions alludes to the beauty of efficient, sustainable, high quality industrial production. By working closely with the engineers and machine operators at their production facilities, Massproductions ensure the integrity of their vision down to every cut and bend.
Holistic understanding of the manufacturing process – from tools to materials and environmental concerns – not only makes the whole process more efficient, but adds clarity and purpose to the designs.
Building on the functional elegance of modernism, Massproductions brings its core principles into the post-digital era. This translates to multifunctional, highly adaptable products – a smart, contemporary toolbox for architects and interior designers.
The Tio Collection is an award-winning range of chairs, stools and tables made of galvanized steel wire with a polyester powder coat. The clean, transparent design makes Tio chairs and tables blend well with a large variety of architectural styles. Available in ten colours (tio means ten in Swedish) and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The Odette series comprises bar stools and tables, suitable for hotels, restaurants and homes. The pedestal table system is built on a powder coated steel base with tops in a large variety of shapes, sizes and heights. The bars stools have matching bases and foot rests, and upholstered cushions.
Designer Chris Martin saw a rack of freshly baked loaves in a bakery and found something instantly appealing about the risen bread against the metal wires. The idea became a sofa with thin steel tube side panels that enclose and lift the plump cushions. Mega offers superb comfort and sculptural expression to offices, hotels and homes.
A graceful collection in which Asian and Scandinavian furniture traditions meet. The desk and stools share the same slender yet strong construction. Icha Icha is named after the Japanese restaurant in Stockholm the stool was originally designed for.
